Avoiding Toner Scams
XRX Business Centre has recently been alerted to a scam targeting businesses regarding toner.
A customer of ours received a call in which the caller stated ‘we understand you have a FujiFilm machine and we are looking to supply your toner’.
Fortunately, the Operations Manager suspected the call was a scam as they have had a service agreement with us for a while and this is not the usual practice for ordering toner with XRX.
Unfortunately, scams like these are not new but they are getting more sophisticated. We wish to advise you to let your staff know these scams are happening and to be aware of the following:
- XRX do not call customers to check if you need toner, we have a simple online order form or you can call us.
- If you have set up auto-toner with us, we will deliver toner to you, without you needing to place an order. The invoice you receive will have a $0 amount, as toner is included in our service agreement.
- If you have not set up auto-toner with us, we will deliver your toner once you have placed the order. The invoice will have a $0 amount, as toner is included in our service agreement.
If your service contract includes toner and you receive a delivery of toner where the invoice amount is not $0, please note this is not from us.
To know more, please watch this video below by our senior account manager Dan Sampson, or contact your account manager to discuss any questions you may have regarding your agreement.
